The Sunday Tribune - Spectrum - Dream theme
knife in a dream is generally symbolic of a weapon, something to harm or something to protect.
As per western thought, dreaming of a knife is unlucky for the dreamer, as it predicts separations and quarrels, and losses in business.
Should you dream of stabbing someone with a knife, you should watch your step as your meanness shall be the cause of harm to you.

Often these dreams recur for a discrete period of time, such as during childhood, adolescence, college years, or during a specific relationship or period of employment.
A woman who chronically gave too much of herself dreamed repeatedly that she was a caterer, although she had never worked in the hospitality field.
Recurring dreams shed light on things we're missing while we are awake; sometimes we can see we are barking up the wrong tree, and other times we are given clues toward a more workable solution.

While KoD is not quite as dreadfully boring as Crossroads of Twilight, neither is it the compelling, fast-paced, "leave 'em sweating" penultimate volume that some advanced reviews suggested.
KoD is book 11, and no matter how long (and possibly how good) the last volume could be, I'm left thinking that this series should and could have easily been edited down to ten books without harming the story in the slightest.
Knife of Dreams is not as bad as the earlier epics, but it's still a far cry from the preceding 4-5 books.

Even the strongest of bands have trouble pulling off numbers this lengthy, and although it seems No Knife just may be able to do it, after four minutes the towel should have been thrown in.
With the quick hits of the drums, thick guitars, and relentless bass all going at it, and the vocals beefing up their words a bit to an almost shout-like singing style, they forcefully end this CD with something to remember.
With a tight rhythm section that is able to pound out rock, as well as slow things down a bit and get soft, they are able to put forth a true tear-jerker one minute, and then follow it through with a regret-filled rock tune.

Some of these plots resolve, many open up possibilities (but ones that are nicely tethered to the base story as opposed to tangential), and all lends themselves to a sense of urgency with regard to the upcoming Last Battle.
