Knoebels is located in a small wooded valley in Central Pennsylvania.
Knoebels purchased the ride in 1984 and dismantled it during the winter of 1985.
Knoebels has two carousels: one small merry-go-round in Kiddieland and the Grand Carousel, a 1913 carousel with a frame by Charles I. Looff and hand-carved horses by Charles Carmel.

Rather than rebuild the buckled floor of the rink, the park converted the building into a new "Haunted Mansion" dark ride, which opened in 1973.
This effort, the first large-scale wooden roller coaster relocation ever, helped spark a movement for the restoration and relocation of other roller coasters standing but not operating.

I haven't ridden Knoebels Twister, but i'll tell you one thing it probably couldn't stand a chance against the original Mister Twister at the old Elitch's.
Also knoebels lowered the enterace to the second half of the helix to lessen a slow spot on the original.
Actually Knoebels was going to add the second tunnel but opted for the visuals for riders and spectators since that area is right next to a playground in the campround.

Park News - (3/25/05) The Darkride and Funhouse Enthusaists group has named the Knoebels Haunted Mansion as the top national dark ride for the fourth year in a row, beating the runner up (Islands of Adventure’s Spider-Man) by a 3 to 1 margin.
The problem right now preventing them from locking down an opening date is the fact that apparently they want to rebuild the look and design of the trains, based on the original designs, but allowing for modern safety features.
They mention the fact that the Whirlwind (Vekoma Corkscrew) has been removed for this season and that Dick Knoebel said that next year’s ride “will be a spectacular ride that the coaster people will love.” Sounds good, but he technically didn’t say that it would be a “coaster” either, so let the speculation begin.
