Korn - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Korn (sometimes typeset as KoЯn to fit the logo) is a multi-platinum nu-metal band from Bakersfield, California.
Korn would be the name of the band, chosen not because it was so odd but that none would forget it.
Korn were not featured on the bill and instead only made surprise appearances at a few of the tour's stops to perform their first single off of their next album, "Falling Away From Me." The tour took a break in 2000 due to heavy competition.

Korn originally formed as LAPD (which stood for Love And Peace Dude, also rumored to be Laughing As People Die), which consisted of all five members apart from singer Jonathan Davis and guitarist Brian "Head" Welch.
Korn is arguably the album most responsible for the rise of nu metal and influencing later nu metal bands such as Limp Bizkit.
Korn appeared on an episode of South Park, titled Korn's Groovy Pirate Ghost Mystery, in which the first single from their then new album "Falling Away From Me" was premiered.

Radio didn't quite know what to do with them for a while, but then their sound was stolen by many lesser bands which managed to get the radio exposure that Korn could not.
This necessitated a revamping of their overall approach and sound and they accomplished this successfully by their fifth album.
As the musical climate changed, Korn again found itself with little radio airplay.
