Their analyses show a series between tintinaite and kobellite, which are orthorombic and monoclinic, respectively.

Kobellite was described from Nizke Tatry Mts from Mlynna dolina, izoklakeite from Vysna Boca (Majzlan and Ozdin 1995, Ozdin 1996, Majzlan and Chovan 1997), and from Spis-Gemer Mts by Kupcik et al.

Three distinct decomposition-induced assemblages, which postdate the deformation, have formed at the expense of kobellite: (i) selenian galena + laitakarite, (ii) tetrahedrite + laitakarite, and (iii) bournonite + laitakarite.
Both kobellite and bournonite are unusually Se-rich, with concentrations in the range of 3.16–4.55 wt.% and 3.37–4.73 wt.%, respectively.

Kobellite's another one of the many lead sulfosalts - a lead copper antimonbismutosulfide.
