	KOCEVJE - SLOVENIA - Located between the Krka and Kolpa rivers
		Located between the Krka and Kolpa rivers, the Municipality of Kocevje is a rich region, the heart of Slovenia’s woodland.
		The ruins of villages, the remains of fields and orchards are weed-ridden and overgrown with bushes and trees.
		With 596 square kilometers, the Municipality of Kocevje is the second largest in Slovenia.

	Museum Kocevje
		Kocevje Regional Museum is the only institution of its kind between Ljubljana and the Kolpa river.
		The Kocevje assembly was also attended by the painter and graphic artist Bozidar Jakac (1899-1989) in his capacity as chronicler and illustrator.
		The Kocevje Germans (the Gottschee) were among the oldest German ethnic communities outside the borders of Germany and Austria, and the only German-speaking rural population in Slovenia after the First World War.

		I'm not sure if this is of help to you, but there is a Gottschee/Kocevje Society in New York in either Brooklyn or Queens.
		One church mentioned to me in the Kocevje area was either St. Margaret or St. Barbara that was destroyed in WWII.
