  Kodaira embedding theorem - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In mathematics, the Kodaira embedding theorem characterises non-singular projective varieties, over the complex numbers, amongst compact Kähler manifolds.
Kunihiko Kodaira's result is that for a compact Kähler manifold M, with cohomology class in degree 2 defined by the Kähler form ω that is an integral cohomology class, there is a complex-analytic embedding of M into complex projective space of some high enough dimension N.
The Kodaira result gives a sufficient condition; that the integrality is necessary is more elementary and was already known.

 Kodaira biography
Kunihiko Kodaira graduated from the University of Tokyo in 1938 with a degree in mathematics.
From 1944 until 1949, Kodaira was an associate professor at the University of Tokyo but by this time his work was well known to mathematicians world-wide and he received an invitation from Weyl to come to Princeton.
Kodaira accepted Weyl's invitation and, from 1949 until 1961, he was a member of the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton.

In this paper we give the topological classification of real primary Kodaira surfaces and we describe in detail the structure of the corresponding moduli space.
Our first result is that if (S, σ) is a real primary Kodaira surface, then the differentiable type of the pair (S,σ) is completely determined by the orbifold fundamental group exact sequence.
Finally, we show that once we fix the topological type of (S, σ) corresponding to a real primary Kodaira surface, the corresponding moduli space is irreducible (and connected).
