		I initially got the idea to work on this site because for some odd reason there aren't many comprehensive sites dedicated to this series out there, so I hope you'll find something worth your visit.

		It would be a definitely be a shame, because Kodocha is a top 5 show for me, I absolutely love this show, and I have been buying every single to support this release.
		Kodocha was R1 release that I (and a lot of other people) never thought would actually happen in the first place - it was never one that I was "going to wait for a cheap boxset" before buying.
		I almost always wait for a boxset of titles and at the moment, Kodocha is one of two series I'm buying singles for (and that other series is one I bought bargain singles for the early volumes of), since I really didn't want to wait two years for a box set.

		In the Kodocha OVA Sana is overly developed for a 6th grader...and has blonde hair.
		In the Kodocha OVA Mamma has 2 guys asking her for her essay instead of Onda from the TV series.
		There are 2 specials in each season of Kodocha, and in each one everyone portrays an animal or a weird object.

	Absolute Anime / Kodocha
		Sana Kurata, the main character, is an 11 year old actress who may not be the brightest bulb in the box, but she genuinely cares about everyone around her and wants the world to be happy.
		Sana handles such issues in her own way, though, and the majority of the time Kodocha will cause you to laugh rather than to cry.
		Kodocha tells the story of cheerful and hyperactive Sana Kurata, who is a famous child star of the hit Comedy show "Child's Toy" and her mother is also a famous award-winning writer.

		On April 4, 2004, exactly eight years and one day after the first Kodocha episode aired in Japan (and almost 10 years after the first manga chapter appeared in Ribon magazine), FUNimation announced that it expects to release Kodomo No Omocha in the United States by the Spring or Summer of 2005.
		But as anyone familiar with Kodocha knows, it presents a bigger challenge than Fruits Basket due to the endless cultural references, the fast pace of the dialogue, and the emotionally erratic nature of the show.
		Many people (myself included) thought Kodocha would never be licensed because of these challenges, but a good Kodocha sub is definitely possible, as "Kodocha Anime" showed when it first introduced English speakers to the series with its fansubs.

		Kurata Sana is a frenetic eleven-year-old child actress with an extremely overprotective agent, a mother who is an eccentric award-winning author, and a burning desire to do well in school.
		It is at once silly and touching, with many a scene of utter chaos interspersed with all the pure emotion of a good melodrama, with jumbled relationships crammed together with zany situations and characters.
		Some of the issues brought up during the course of the series may prompt some discussion with younger children (particularly themes of child abuse and teen pregnancy), but on the whole, it's fun, crazy fare fit for the whole family, barring perhaps only fans of the Teletubbies.

		I think the case for Kodocha is somewhat similar to the Galaxy Railways boxset.
		I believe there was an interview linked in the ET forum where a side comment was made about Kodocha not doing as well as they'd hoped - I'm thinking this further supports that.
		I just noticed that AAA Anime added a bunch of new FUNi solicitations, and the Kodocha boxset was one of the items listed.

		The Kodocha DVDs are dubbed & uncut, and feature lots of laughs, some serious drama, and a nice art style.
		I think the removal of the song takes away from the series, but it's still better to have Kodocha without the song than to not have it at all.

		To sum it up briefly-- Kodomo no Omocha, or Kodocha for short, is a hyperactive, ridiculous shoujo show starring Sana-chan, an 11-year-old child-actress who's had WAY too much caffeine.
		And the answer is: Kodomo no Omocha is a series that ran in Japan from 1996 to 1998, with 1 OVA and a 104 episode TV run.
		Kodocha Anime is currently fansubbing the TV series.
