Kolomenskoe is located about 10 kilometers southeast of the Kremlin in Moscow, close to Moscow State University.
The first document to have mentioned the village of Kolomenskoe is dated 1339, during the reign of Ivan Kalita.
In 1666 or 1667, Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich ordered the construction of a fantastic wooden summer palace at Kolomenskoe, which was dubbed the eighth wonder of the world.

Anna met me at the Marriott about 8:00a and we set off on a journey to Kolomenskoe, a beautiful park located about 10 kilometers southeast of Moscow on the Moscow River.
It was very peaceful at the park and there were only a few folks to be seen.
Anna knew a lot about the park and told me that some of the buildings (like the one above) had actually been originally built in the far north of the country and were later relocated to Kolomenskoe.

Honey sellers from remote parts of Russia coming with casks or cans of honey and another kinds of products made by bees: some of these products have such difficult names that I can hardly say them in Russian even :) But, they said, all of them are very good for the health.
And it seems to work well: those people who were just curious and were going to take a look at the fair leaving it having 1-2 cans of honey.
