Kolossi and its castle are directly connected with a number of important events, which constitute various interesting folds of the agelong and stormy history of Cyprus.
The Castle of Kyrenia was captured by Guy de Lusignan and imprisoned the wife and daughter of Isaac who had sent them there believing that they would be safe.
According to the first of the castle was build in 1210 A.D. when Kolossi was given by King Hugh I to the Knights of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem.

If you are coming from Limassol head for Kolossi village, as you drive past the turning for Kolossi Castle keep an eye out for Airtime on your left hand side which is next to the School and painted bright blue.
If you are coming from the opposite direction head for Kolossi Village and the Castle, look for a bright blue building on your right hand side.
