  Shaviyani Atoll - Island Information
The island of Komandoo is found in the Western rim of the atoll.
At the end of February 2003, the total population of Komandoo was 1599 with 777 females and 822 males.
The "Komandoo Isdharivarunge Jami'yya" was established for the purpose of assisting the school in various ways; sports develoment and raise youth interest for sports; and social development.

 Atoll Introduction
Since it is the third atoll from the north of the country it is assigned the letter 'C' as the atoll code.
In the middle of the atoll, lying south are Maroshi, Medhukuburudhoo, Madidhoo and Madikuredhoo.
At the end of 2003, the student population of the atoll was 5248, manned by 239 trained primary teachers, 79 temporary untrained teachers and 63 expatriate teachers.

Male' - 9:59 PM - Sources have confirmed that Gayyoom instructed officials in the Atoll of to rig the vote and the whole thing was done inside Shaviyani Atoll Office in Komandoo.
Male' - 9:37 PM - Sources in Male' are reporting that Gayyoom has rigged the Shaviyani vote and his candidate is likely to be declared the winner by a majority of around 300.
Attempts to rig the votes was hampered due to the overall lead held by Kaanal and the public's preparedness to confront Gayyoom's start Force who were on high alert all day and night wearing gas masks with full riot gear.
