		TOKYO, May 8 -- Komusubi Kaio forced out Chiyotaikai to claim his second ozeki scalp of the Summer Grand Sumo Tournament on Monday and keep the early pace with unbeaten grand champions Akebono and Takanohana.
		In earlier bouts, komusubi Takatoriki was pulled to the ring's surface by Tamakasuga (2-0) for his second loss, already equaling the total number of losses he incurred while winning the spring tourney in March with a 13-2 record.
		Akebono followed up quickly and used another powerful shove to knock the komusubi onto his behind and into the ringside seats.

		Beginning at the top, Yokozuna Asashoryu was nails in the final bout of the day as he executed the morozashi grip to perfection after giving up the uwate to Iwakiyama at the tachi-ai.
		The new Komusubi grabbed the uwate and drove the Yokozuna back a few steps, but just when it looked as if Asashoryu was in danger, he turned the tables securing his patented morozashi grip, which he used to drive the larger Iwakiyama back to the center of the ring.
		He was aided by a horrible tachi-ai from the other Komusubi, Takamisakari, but today was vintage Musashimaru.

		Sekiwake Kaio, looking for 12 wins in Nagoya to be considered for promotion to ozeki, was weak on the face-off and allowed Higonoumi (1-1) to plow forward for the unexpectedly easy win.
		Ozeki Takanonami was the only wrestler in the upper ranks saddled with a loss, getting off to a slow start against komusubi Tosanoumi and having to retreat backwards out of the ring.
