Konstantynow is also a part of the Polish town Gąbin.
From 1974 to 1991 the tallest structure mankind ever built stood here, the Warsaw radio mast.

It was used as aerial of half-wave length for a longwave broadcasting transmitter on 227 kHz (later 225 kHz) with a transmitter output power of 2000 kilowatt and was therefore insulated against ground for a voltage of 120 kV and stood on a 2 metre high insulator.
The radio mast of the Radiowe Centrum Nadawcze (at Konstantynow) was guyed in 5 levels with steel ropes with 50 milimetres diametre which were subdivided by special insulators.
The radio mast at Konstantynow was built between 1972 and 1974 and went in service on July 22th, 1974.

The first Konstantynows in Lodz is near Radomsko, but no records there until 1873.
The second Konstantynow in Lodz is a parish near Lodz and records are available there for 1868.

Before second world war in Konstantynow there was three disciplines going for: football, athletics and gimnastic.
There was three sport clubs: Konstantynow Sport Club and Working-class Sport Club and elitist Gimnastic Society "Sokol".
After the war there was new club Konstantynow Sport Club "Zryw" which was training sportsmen in football and athletics.

So the problem of bringing electric power and VHF-signals to a mast which has a high frequency voltage of approximately 30000 volts against ground was solved very well!
(I believe the lamps for marking the mast in Konstantynow were fed with electricity in the same way.)
According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warsaw_Radio_Mast, there was also a maintenance elevator at the radio mast of Konstantynow, which required 30 minutes to a trip to the top.

Irene: There is an Albertow in the parish of Brzeziny which was founded in 1845, but as well there is an Albertow north west of the parish of Konstantynow, north of the Ner river.
This Albertow is equidistant from both the Alexanderow and Konstantynow parishes and I cannot find any reference suggesting which parish it might have belonged to, although one tends to think of rivers as serving as borders.
