Kooyong Retreat was originally a dairy, with the sweeping driveway taking visitors to the homestead which is tucked away in the corner of the property, providing total peace and privacy for guests.

By then the Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club had ceased to be responsible for the day to day administration of tennis in Victoria and had embarked on a program of progressive upgrading of its facilities to meet the demands of a new generation of members.

On both sides of politics, MPs generally break down into two categories: high-flyers who yearn to rule the roost and parade their achievements, knowledge and power, and ground dwellers who want to blend in and are content to tend the home patch, and demonstrate their loyalty to the cause.
Another missile fired at Georgiou by his internal opponents is that he is somehow to blame for Kooyong not being as safe for the Liberals as it used to be.
But slowly the Liberal margins in Kooyong, and in Peter Costello's electorate of Higgins, are being whittled away — by 3 to 4 per cent since the early '90s.

The eruption in Kooyong — home to some of Australia's most prestigious addresses and private schools, and listed among the top three electorates on a scale of socio-economic advantage — is rare, though not unprecedented.
This was not to be confused with its election fighting fund, which was held in a separate account and was "healthy for this stage of the election cycle".

 Indigenous Place Names
Most of the Indigenous languages did not have a written form when Victoria’s places and features were being named under European settlement (although some Indigenous communities used message sticks to convey information between groups).
The people who first recorded fragments of these languages were not linguists paying careful attention to subtleties of pronunciation they were generally surveyors and explorers, who were usually the first Europeans to travel through the land and record names in their maps, charts and fieldbooks.
Indigenous names or words from a particular language area may be proposed for places in another language area, subject to consultation with and consent of the relevant Indigenous communities in both areas.
