In 1834 the town reverted to the name Toronto and this was the name the city was incorporated under on March 6 of that year, with William Lyon Mackenzie as its first mayor.

On Saturday I went to Korea town to experience the LA Korean Festival.
If you've never been to LA or Korea town, it is just west of downtown, about 5 miles from the skyscrapers that makeup the LA skyline.
Korea town itself spans about 5 or 6 city blocks, but you can still see many signs written in Korean scripts well outside of these boundaries.

Korea was liberated in 1945 but suffered the division of the peninsula and the Korean War, basically an outgrowth of the cold war between the United States and the Soviet Union.
This kind of behavior and attitude is accelerated in Korea Town because: (1) Koreans living there are psychologically deprived and want to hide this deprivation, (2) they want other Koreans to see them as successful, and (3) they are surrounded by unknown people.
Korean parents in Korea Town are struggling to survive and do not have enough time to take care of their children.

"Korea Town" is mostly a commercial district with many Korean restaurants, entertainment centers, food stores, and just about everything else found in a typical mall.
In "Korea Town," there are approximately 15 Korean restaurants, 1 Korean grocery store, 1 Korean bookstore, 5 Korean fast food restaurants, 8 Korean cafes, 10 Korean bar/clubs, 8 karaoke bars, 4 Korean hair salons, a few Korean clothing/accessory stores and a few other necessity stores.
This is probably because most of the older Korean Americans finished their schooling in South Korea, whereas many of the younger Korean Americans are attending at least a few years of school in America.

Joo Sang Lee was well known in Korea as a Hapkido instructor who organized spectacular tournament/demonstrations in Korea in the Mid-60's.
I was aware that Joo Sang Lee and his younger brother Joo Bang Lee, were well known in the Hapkido organization in Korea, and that their break from the organization in 1969 was resented by the Hapkido loyalists.
The photograph, taken in Joo Bang Lee's school in Seoul, Korea, shows a Kuk Sool Won banner on the wall and the Kuk Sool Won logo painted on a wooden plaque, and Lee's students are wearing Kuk Sool Won uniforms.

At this point I have not established where Korea Town is. As we start moving west, I ask a guy who is sitting near me, if he knows where Korea Town is. He suggests Chinatown.
After the train travels a few more stations west, a nice young lady approaches, and explains that she heard me asking for info on Korea Town.
I opted for the labels, because I won't be carrying my keyboard to Korea on the plane.

Carol's parents were in town tonight so we hit pretty much every top Korean restaurant in Manhattan.
This is usually where we go when we're in Korea Town.
They have some of the best and varied kim chi (little pickled side dishes made from cabbage, radish, clams, blue crab, cucumbers, anchovies, bok choy, etc.) The key difference for this restaurant is they don't use a gas barbecue.

President Park cried with them and promised them that Korea would be well off if everyone works hard for Korea, and the President of Germany got the strong impression on them and lent money to Korea.
Many Korean scientists and engineers in the USA came back to Korea to help developing country because they wanted their country to be well off.

Hi, I've booked the Ramada Wilshire Center on Wilshire near the intersection with Western (that's Korea Town, I guess), but I've just read that this may be a bad/unsafe neighbohood.
I'm in town for a convention at the Staples center but the hotels near Staples are either too expensive or booked up.
Someone had recommended me Wilshire/Western (Korea Town) as not being dangerous, but then I read other opinions which you now confirm...
