 Sun Myung Moon - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
On Easter morning, April 17, 1935, when he was 16 (in Korean age reckoning), Moon says he had a vision or revelation of Jesus while praying atop a small mountain.
Moon was arrested in 1946 by North Korean officials for preaching Christianity, forbidden by the communist government.
Following Moon's torture and imprisonment by the North Korean communists from 1947 to 1950 he was not reported to have engaged primarily in political agitation, but rather in daily worship.
