Beer is one of the oldest beverages humans have produced, dating back to at least the 5th millennium BC and recorded in the written history of Ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia.
On average, beer´s alcohol content is between 4% and 6% alcohol by volume, although it can be as low as 2% and as high as 14% under ordinary circumstances and several brewers claim to make beers that are upwards of 20%.
All beers before the cultivation of yeast in the 19th century were closer to this style, characterised by their sour flavours.

If you want a real beer then you have to go to the micro-breweries or you have to buy a foreign beer.  The foreign beers are all 2 to 3 times the price of Korean brands.
The beer used to be terrible.  And finally we have the Three Dragons in Sinchon, this was the first micro-brewery I went to in Korea, the hardest to find, the most anticipated and the biggest disappointment.
Perhaps it was just me, but Korean beer not only tasted awful, but bestowed upon its drinker the absolute worst hangovers I have experienced.

Unless you are able to market this to the North Koreans and the communist Chinese that actually made it out of their respective countries, I think you will find your target audience a lot smaller then you think.
As I stated in my post, te fact this beer is probably made by a government owned facility (as N. Korea is Communist) bothers me. It absolutely has nothing to do with the fact it is made by people who live in North Korea.
The North Korean government is at war with the South Korean government.

Cass and Hite are the better tasting of the bottled beers and OB has improved dramatically over the years.
I have Korean friends who wish they never had to return to their native brews after drinking Aussie beer.

That beer has now been bottled and is waiting for the first taste test...probably later this week.
Of course it is very important to keep everything sterile when making beer (now is not the time to bring up the underwear bag), so before the chips can be added, they must be thoroughly sterilized.

Drinks include domestic and Korean beer, soju (shochu), makkoli (a mild, milky-looking traditional rice wine), and a clear Korean rice wine called chungha - it's not quite sake, but very similar, and it's a decent match for spicy food.

I posted yesterday that I was going to try to go to a lecture by Dr. Andrei Lankov on an attempt by some in the North Korean communist party to replace Kim Il-sung during a party conference in the summer of 1956.
One issue he had to deal with on a regular basis was the need to explain the basics of the situation (Korean division, Nork brinkmanship tactics, etc.) over and over again every time he does a report on North Korea.
However, the little boys and girls at Hanchonryon are so consistent in repeating the North Korean Party Line that one would have to be forgiven for thinking that they are getting their marching orders directly from Pyongyang.
