Koreatown, or K-town as it is sometimes called, is one of the city's smallest ethnic neighborhoods, really only one block of 32nd Street between Broadway and Fifth Avenue, although restaurants are starting to spring up east of Fifth Avenue as well.
Koreatown has its origins in the late 1980s when Korean restaurants catering to garment workers and Korean green grocers began opening on 32nd Street.

The Korean restaurants in Manhattan do a good business, and I have the impression that Korean food is becoming increasingly popular among non-Koreans in New York.
But one thing about Korean restaurants in this area - as opposed to many of the Chinese, Indian, Thai, or Vietnamese ones - is that they seldom water down their food or adulterate it with excessive sugar in an attempt to appeal to the tastes of non-Koreans who like things milder and sweeter.

He found a place called Toto Music Studio nestled in the heart of Koreatown in Manhattan, New York City that rents rooms to people who just need to sing.
So you see, the idea here is not about embarrassing yourself in front of a few friends and lots of strangers, it’s all about out-embarrassing yourself in front of a bunch of your closest friends.
