The stadium is located in Korydallos, a western district of Athens.
It was somewhat upgraded in 2000, becoming an all-seater, with a new turf and new lights.
Proodeftiki FC have repeatedly expressed their will to leave Korydallos Stadium, something that may happen in the future, provided that a new planned stadium gets the green light by local authorities.

The delegation was informed that the juvenile offenders were shortly to be transferred to a rural prison in the area of Volos (the accommodation thereby freed to be used to relieve overcrowding in the mens prison).
At Korydallos Mens Prison, for example, it was observed that once the visiting room was at least partially full, it was impossible to conduct a private conversation.

In a six-page report submitted to the UN committee for last week's session, the New-York based Human Rights Watch noted that 132 of the 2,200 prisoners housed at Korydallos prison were in fact being detained for violating the country's immigration laws, most of whom fled their countries to escape from war or famine.

Some 400 convicts from Korydallos prison will be transferred to a new jail in Trikala this week as part of the first phase to relocate inmates of the aging jail near Piraeus, Justice Minister Anastassis Papaligouras said yesterday.
The aim is to transform Korydallos into a detention center for defendants awaiting trial by the middle of 2007, Papaligouras said after a meeting with prefectural officials.
“The process of relocating Korydallos jail is essentially beginning, and this is not a pre-electoral promise,” Papaligouras said.

The programme, which was launched as a pilot one in 2000 at Korydallos Women’s Prison on the initiative of the "EN DRASI" Therapeutic Programme, constitutes the first in-prison drug treatment intervention in line with the structure and the operational framework of a TC.
The general aim of the programme is to achieve recovery from drugs in the prison setting through the admission to a str uctured therapeutic framework which at the same time lays special emphasis on educational and rehabilitation activities.

An uneasy calm prevailed at Korydallos jail yesterday, punctuated by two attempts by inmates to rush the gates, after three platoons of riot police using tear-gas quelled a mass escape attempt late on Thursday night by prisoners holding the prison for the fourth consecutive day.
Meanwhile, in a unanimous resolution, the Korydallos district municipal council accused all governments of a lack of seriousness on the issue of removing the jail from the area, demanded the immediate decongestion of the facility, and expressed its solidarity with the demands of inmates in all prisons for better living conditions.
He also claimed that during his detention in Korydallos prison, he was attacked and injured by Albanian inmates during the first day of the prison uprising.

Yet another inmate in the top-security Athens Korydallos Prison has died in his cell after taking drugs, the Justice Ministry confirmed yesterday, while sources told Kathimerini that the government has hushed up at least another two similar deaths over the past 10 days.
Two days ago, the sources said, a young man held in Korydallos was found in a comatose state in his cell after taking a suspected drugs and alcohol cocktail, but eventually recovered, while in recent days four convicts required treatment in the prison hospital after taking heroin.
Last year, the former governor of the Korydallos women's section and four warders received suspended jail sentences over that incident.

According to a statement by Serifis' lawyers, the decision for his temporary custody was based on the charge of involvement in the terrorist group while there was no evidence on the charge that he was in possession of a firearm.
