The median income for a household in the county is $43,939, and the median income for a family is $49,532.

The county is named after Polish general Tadeusz Kosciuszko, county seat after capital of Poland.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,436 km²; (554 mi²;).
There are 27,283 households out of which 35.60% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.90% are married couples living together, 8.30% have a female householder with no husband present, and 26.70% are non-families.

The territory was of sufficient extent to form, when divided up into counties, twelve or fifteen of the usual size of municipal district, and contained over one million two hundred thousand acres, with not a white settler on it.
I have stated that I had, in 1832 been elected by the Legislature prosecuting attorney for the north of Indiana, and in 1833 located on a farm in what is now Kosciusko county.
The naming of the county I resided in was awarded to me by general consent, but no human soul ever heard the least intimation what I would name it.

Kosciusko County was organized June 1, 1837 it was named after the Polish soldier and patriot General Kosciusko, who had served in the American Army in the Revolutionary War.
It is bounded on the north by Elkhart, east of Noble and Whitley, south by Wabash and Miami, and west by Fulton and Marshall counties, being twenty-seven miles from north to south, and twenty-one from east to west, and containing 567 square miles.
Warsaw, the County Seat, was named in honor of the capital of General Kosciusko's native land.

These Ritters were, in approximate order of known appearance in the county, David Ritter, Isaac Ritter, John Ritter, Elias Ritter, and four sons of George Ritter (Abraham Ritter, Elijah Ritter, John Ritter and Henry Ritter).
Seven children of George Ritter of Tuscarawas Co., OH came to Kosciusko between 1853 and 1863, after having lived for a few years in Lake Co., IN, where their father died in 1855.

They were on 1050 N. about 200 - 300 feet west of county road 450 E. The second is a report of vocalizations/screams and some smells from a rural area near one our many lakes.
