Kosho Ryu International martial arts organization was established to preserve the teachings of the old masters "The study of natural laws" - known in ancient times as Ch'uan Fa or Fist Law.
Kosho Ryu is the education of cultural arts as well as the martial arts.

Although Kosho is an individual sport, the Hoary Jackdaws of Osric U. like to think of themselves as a team.
It involves two trampolines set on either side of a 4" x 8" pool of water, set next to a high barrier wall with an angled ledge and hand-rail (Osric University's kosho arena is the only such arena in the state of Michigan).
Osric University's current Kosho champion is Solomon Grundy (17-3), who defeated Xander Seltzman of Concordia College (21-2) on October 13th.

Considering how many rikishi already show up for their matches with heavy bandages wrapped around various parts of their body, abolishing kosho completely would probably only serve to make the banzuke even more of a lottery than it already seems to be at times.
Perhaps the kosho system needs a redesign, for instance regular medical checks by the Kyokai before the intended kosho tournament to make sure the kosho status is still justified.

 Kosho Ryu Kempo? - Deluxe Martial Arts Forums
Kosho Ryu Kempo is the art of the late Grandmaster James Masayoshi Mitose, who is pretty much is the guy you can trace nearly every style of Kempo in America back to.
"Kosho" means "old pine tree," and refers to the founder of the art, who Mitose said was an ancestor of his in ancient Japan.
James Mitose was something of a character, in later years he took to wearing priest's robes and carrying Buddhist beads and allegedly saying that Kempo should never be used, even in self defense.
