		Koushiro is adopted, but was never told so by his parents, and because of that he subconsciously distanced himself from his parents and became more focused on computers as well as finding out the origin of things instead.
		The crest glows for the first time when Koushiro realizes his curiosity is important to the group, causing Kabuterimon to evolve to Atlur Kabuterimon, who destroys the evil Digimon that tried to take Koushiro's curiosity away from him.
		However, despite that, Koushiro is the one who spends the most time with the season two group and often informs them of things that are going on in the Digital World.

	Kimagure Hatsukoi no Road (The Capriscious Read of First Love)
		Mimi and Koushiro are both 10-year-old and students from fourth grade, apparently classmates, who casually saw themselves also in the Digiworld as the Digidestined.
		Jyou and Koushiro are the 'geeks' between the Digidestined, as one is an top student who wants to be a doctor (whether he really wants or does it following his father and brother, is a different question), and the other is a PC genius who's constantly searching for questions and answers.
		Jyou and Koushiro are supposed to be the last after they've tossed Gomamon out of danger, but then Piedmon catches them, and instead of jumping together with Izzy, Jyou shoves the younger child in the swing away to save him, and is caught.

		Jyou ("Joe") and Koushiro ("Izzy") are both nerds, but of different types; Jyou is more of a paranoid, overly-responsible nerd, and Koushiro is a computer nerd.

		Changing 'Koushiro' to 'Izzy' just made Izzy's parents look rather psychotic.
		Though I know someone who does go by the name of 'Izzy' because of his last name, growing up with the name Izzy Izumi would make ANYONE a weirdo.
