Abraham Kovoor - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Abraham Thomas Kovoor (April 10, 1898 - September 18, 1978) was a Keralite Indian professor and Rationalist who gained prominence after retirement for his campaign to expose as frauds various Indian "god-men" and so-called paranormal phenomena.
Born at Thiruvalla in Kerala, Kovoor was the son of Rev. Kovoor Eipe Thomma Katthanar, Vicar General of the Mar Thomma Syrian Church of Malabar.
A controversy arose when Kovoor was awarded an honorary doctorate by the obscure (and now defunct) Minnesota Institute of Philosophy, calling itself the theological seminary of a "Church of Materialism." Kovoor had never visited the US.

 The Challenge Part 1
Although Dr. Kovoor and men of his stamp stand proudly on their platform of knowledge, it should be pointed out for the benefit of members of the public not expert in sophistry, that men like Dr.
Kovoor, who pose as the guardians of logic, reason and the advancement of science, are sailing on a sinking ship when they meddle in matters that lie beyond the purview of their limited senses.
Regarding souls and rebirth, Dr. Kovoor writes, "I have not any valid reason or evidence to believe it." This statement only goes to show that the process of direct sensory perception is limited and imperfect and that it therefore yields no result when applied to matters beyond its jurisdiction.

Your article itself proves that you never accepted Kovoor's challenge, and the acceptance of Kovoor's challenge in spurious names and addresses was only to create nuisance value and to confuse the gullible people and change the issue.

Dr Abraham Kovoor - The Rationalist of Indian Subcontinent
I was told by Mr C. Pathmanathan in Sri Lanka who used attend the meeting of the rationalist association of Sri Lanka, how Dr Kovoor used to distribute the so-called "Holy Ash" in the same manner as some self-appointed Hindu gurus did.
The Buddha's rejection of authority, tradition, hearsay, dogma and so on, and his position - stated very clearly to the enquiring Kalama people of the village Kesaputta - that one should accept something as true and valid on the basis of verification by oneself, naturally appealed to the rationalist mind.
Dr Kovoor disregarded his Christian faith and tradition as he couldn't accept the Bible as the word of an omniscient god.

Basava Premanand: Betrayal Article: Response One
It is not speculation when Kovoor demanded names and contact information to anonymous miracle stories and concluded that since no names or contact information were provided, the stories were false and unbelievable.
My Response: Dr. Kovoor accused Dr. Bhagavantham of "withholding information", being "insincere and dishonest", "conspiring", "propagandizing" and having a "vested interest", because Dr. Bhagavantham could not provide the name and contact information to an anonymous Japanese man who was allegedly the recipient of a Sathya Sai Baba miracle.
Kovoor said, "As I feel it is unscientific even for a scientist to believe this type of cock-and-bull story without verification, I request you to kindly let me know the name and address of this Japanese so that I may verify the truth about it.
