History of the vintage kramer guitar
Kramer’s history dates back to the early 1970s when a young man by the name of Dennis Berardi, musical instrument dealer and drummer, became intrigued with the new “aluminum neck” guitars that were being created by the small company, Travis Bean guitars.
Kramer Guitars, known for their unique and distinctive sound, have greatly changed the music world in the last 30 years.
In the late 1980s, Kramer started to make a line of wood-neck guitars—which went against their practice of creating guitars with aluminum necks that the company was founded on.

However, Eddie's Kramer 5150 and 1984 guitars were NOT Baretta models but were modified Kramer Pacer Specials with a straight humbucker.
Many people have also asked why their overseas Kramers have U.S. neckplates, the answer is: Beginning approximately in 1986, Kramer placed the same neckplate on all of their guitars regardless of origin.

 Kramer Aluminum Neck Guitars
The Kramer aluminum neck era ran from 1976 to 1985 and was the legacy of the company before switching over to the more popular wood neck models uring the 80s.
In 1977, Kramer issued the even cheaper 250 series guitar and bass which essentially was the same as the 350s but had a black pickguard and were only offered in black or white.
It should be remembered that Kramer was very hip on what was happening in the guitar world at all times, hence, the debut of the Duke series in 1981.

 Joey Kramer Interview
Kramer: Well, the first takes definitely would have been a new direction, but I think it was everyone's decision for a live in the studio approach-no one liked how the guitars were being recorded or the fact that I wasn't playing make it lack a certain energy.
Kramer: Well the real truth about it was that Stephen Davis (who is credited with co-authoring the book with Aerosmith) was going to write a book anyway, and we figured we would get on there with him and make it the real deal.
Kramer: I think that we have a great record, but it's just sort of a strange time in radio, and the business in general-especially with what I'm seeing in Europe with all of this dance music.
