		Kreacher continued to live there after her death, although he did not do much upkeep in the years before Sirius Black offered the house to the Order of the Phoenix for use as headquarters, an action which Kreacher resented greatly.
		Kreacher then proceeded to betray the Order as much as he was able, and eventually tricked Harry into thinking that Sirius was at the Department of Mysteries, which led to Sirius' death (OP22, OP24, OP32, OP37).
		As the case of Kreacher shows, it's very important for the wizards to know if their house-elf is really loyal to them or not, because these creatures see and hear things, and can collect information and eventually use it against their masters.

		Perhaps Kreacher is just old and crotchety and set in his ways, and Dobby got out while he was still in his teen rebellious stage.
		Kreacher would have behaved poorly no matter what Sirius did or did not do (and notice that nobody except Hermione sees anything wrong with the way S treats Kreacher--even Dumbledore is thinking strategically, not empathetically).
		Kreacher did not seem to be abused at all by the family in the past.

		Dont forget that Kreacher has always been part of the Black family, and if RAB is Regulus Black then it could be possible that Kreacher may have some valuable information about him or the Horcroux.
		I really like the idea that Kreacher could be useful to Harry in locating the locket and/or RAB (or information pertaining to him).
		My brother had an amazing theory about Kreacher as soon as he had read book 6, and I think i posted it on here then, but I'll add it to this as it is a special Kreacher thread.

		Lets say it does, then do you think harry will use kreacher as a weapon against voldemort and his followers, use him to send them false infomation and to spy on them for the order.
		Kreacher, I think, will probably be locked up in the Grimmauld's Place attic because the Order can't risk having any spies and/or any mishaps like with Sirius..they need someone they can trust.
		But, Kreacher's a bit of a lunatic, and can't have his mind clearly blanked, so what if Lucius Malfoy or someone else is skilled at Legilmency (spelling..) and knows Kreacher is lying?

		In OOTP Kreacher is always insulting Sirius under his breath, talking about how he betrayed his family and broke his mother's heart etc but in GOF (which I've just re-read and noticed this) Dobby says house elves are not allowed to speak their mind about or insult their masters- it's part of their enslavement.
		If this is true how is Kreacher able to insult Sirius so freely when he is still technically his master and therefore he shouldn't be able- as Dobby says- to speak ill of him.
		He can even insult Hermione because Kreacher has no idea who she is but, he can call her a mud-blood (even though i don't think that he shouldn't insult Hermione)Kreacher isn't loyal to Sirius but his mom owned Kreacher not Sirius.
