Yuga - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In Dwapara Yuga, science flourishes, people experience the spiritual in terms of subtle energies and rational choices, inventions are abundant, particularly those that dissolve the illusion of distance (between people and between things), and power is mostly in the hands of women.
The ascending phase of Kali Yuga began in September of 499 CE.
According to Vedic Cosmologist Patrizia Norelli-Bachelet, the numbers given for the yuga are to be understood as seconds of degrees of arc of precessional movement (precession of the equinoxes).

Satya Yuga - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Satya Yuga, also called Sat Yuga, Krta Yuga and Krita Yuga in Hinduism, is the "Yuga (Age or Era) of Truth", when humankind is governed by gods, and every manifestation or work is close to the purest ideal and mankind will allow intrinsic goodness to rule supreme.
Further decline brings about the Dwapara Yuga, and after it comes the final and dark Kali Yuga, a time of wickedness, when man kills man. At the end of the cycle a Divine Being is said to take birth and reestablish righteousness, thus beginning a new Satya Yuga.
Amongst the four eras, the Satya Yuga is the first and the most significant one.

The "yuga" cycle corresponds to the phenomenon described as "precession of the equinoxes" whereby the positions of constellations shift across the horizon over a period of (if it continues at current rates) 25,600 years.

Treat Yuga is named for the dice-cast of the Three, one fourth of Dharma has vanished; disease appears in the world; and moral duites are no longer spontaneous, but have to be learned.

The four yugas; Krita, Treta, Dwapara (Dvapara), and Kali, are an essential aspect of Hindu existence as they represent the cycle of degeneration and regeneration of humanity from an age of perfect harmony and absolute virtue, to an age of impiety and virtually no virtue.
The Kali yuga is the final of the four ages and morally speaking, the furthest degenerated.

The satya yuga, also called krita yuga, is the age of innocence, of innate goodness, the age when Dharma or Truth prevails.
Satya means "truth," and krita is often rendered as "perfect," "well-done," being the past participle of the verb-root kri – "to do." The treta yuga is the age of only three-fourths of the truth, from treta meaning "three." The material forces then begin to exert their opposing influence.
The kali yuga, or the Dark Age, is the yuga in which only one part of the Truth prevails, because materiality and ignorance with their evil relations of selfishness and anger and indifference hold sway over human hearts.
