Kroton defeats the Sontaran squad in the village and tracks down their mothership, which is preparing to produce an army of clones; there, he fights off the awakening Sontarans and sabotages the ship, destroying it and saving the village.
While trying to avoid the pirates, the Doctor and Izzy are confronted by a Cyberman hiding in the freighter’s cargo hold, and the Doctor electrocutes it; however, it survives, and is revealed to be Kroton, the only Cyberman ever to survive conversion without losing his individual identity.
While the Doctor was nearly killing the innocent Kroton, the Master was on Earth, acting as a sensei to Katsura Sato, the samurai who had been granted immortality by the Doctor and thus lost the ability to commit seppuku.

I read a post somewhere at OG once of a Cyberman who was a companion in one of the DWMs.
Kroton started out back in the early days of DWM, when it was a weekly publication.
Kroton was the Cyberman with a soul - that was what set him apart from the soulless Cybermen.

It's easy to see his appeal; the strip is dynamically drawn, engagingly written, and Kroton himself is utterly charming, as he struggles to understand what is happening to him.

Just after our heroes close the hatch on a Cyberman who then punches at it, we see the same Cyberman appear at the bottom of the ladder with the sleeve of his costume obviously giving way around the shoulder.
The one time we see a whole Kroton (as it emerges from the Machine), spot the bulge in the bottom section where the operator's leg is moving.

In the same scene, Gregory carefully attaches the leads from the machine to the Cyberman's head, near the "jug handles." Before he can operate the machine though, the lead nearest the camera slides downwards and almost off the Cyberman's head.
Whenever the base of a Kroton is visible, it is usually possible to see the operator's legs causing it to bulge outwards as he moves it along.
When the Doctor and Zoe are captured by a Kroton near the TARDIS, the Doctor picks up his bag of rocks so fast that one of them falls out with a clatter.

He keeps tapping a key or two, then pulling away from the console because Matthew Waterhouse knows it's going to blow up any minute, thanks to the final remaining Cyberman (which Adric isn't supposed to know about...) -- The Cybermen's mouth/chin pieces were originally clear plastic, but were later sprayed lightly with silver paint.

Secondly, the music was not scored to picture, or even with close reference to a camera script, but composed as a "library" of cues for ad hoc use (for instance "Cyberman Stab and Music", presented here, like most of these cues, in its entirety, is used repeatedly in the serial).
Thirdly, the cues were tracked in as though they were effects, cutting in at the start of scenes, and out at the ends (a true music score would generally lead us into and out of scenes).
These are wonderfully atmospheric tracks, and it's a shame that Brian's Cyberman theme wasn't used again.

It was a homage to Kroton, what I did today, when I was playing Ryan Carey.
I get taken hostage and the Cyberman says, 'You will wait in here', and I go, 'Thanks, cheers'.
