		Gustav Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach was born in the Hague, the son of a diplomat.
		During the 1930s, Krupp Works became the center of German rearmament, due in large part to Gustav Krupp's devotion to the Third Reich, Alfried, his son, took over in 1943, was arrested by the Allies, tried for slave labor, and sentenced for war crimes at Nuremburg.
		Krupp cannons were used in Bismarck's wars against Austria and France; its artillery destroyed the Belgian fortifications in 1914, and shelled Paris in 1918; and its stupendous armaments output supplied Hitler nearly single-handedly with heavy artillery, tanks, and U-boats.

		The Krupp K5 series all were consistent in mounting a 21.5 m long gun barrel in a box mounting.
		Both guns were shipped to the U.S. Aberdeen Proving Ground, (Aberdeen, Maryland) where they underwent tests.

		According to him, the gun was captured and the barrel blown and he took pictures before and after (which I hope to get and reproduce here).
		However, he also claims the barrel was marked "BETHLEHEM, PA", which I find a wee bit hard to believe and to which I think Krupp might take exception, unless he's confusing a K5(E) with a recaptured 155mm gun or 8" howitzer.
