In Krusevac, Momcilo Stevanovic, an opposition party member, says: "The mothers of the soldiers that are still in Kosovo are preparing to go to Kosovo to bring their sons back.
According to one source reached in Krusevac, the Army recognized the potential for chaos in the town and did nothing to stop the soldiers from leaving, camouflaging the exodus as part of a regular troop demobilization.
Still, one source in Krusevac notes, Army commanders are under significant pressure to ensure the return of the reservists to Kosovo before other Army units dispatched to the region start questioning the prolonged absence of their fellow conscripts.

The leaders of anti-war protests in the southern Serb town of Krusevac are to be charged with treason by the local Yugoslav army.
They are accused of "undermining the defence of the country, of committing treason and of directly cooperating with the enemy", said the command of the Krusevac garrison.
In placing charges it said it was acting "in accordance with the law on the state of war", adding the protests had become destructive and taken advantage of parental feelings.

Anti-war demonstrators in the central Serbian town of Krusevac were yesterday reported to have been sentenced to between 20 and 30 days in prison as the Yugoslav army moved against a mutiny by more than 400 reserve soldiers who refused to return to combat duties in Kosovo.
Both Cacak and Krusevac have mayors from the Democratic Party, which is opposed to Slobodan Milosevic.
The unrest is understood to have begun earlier this week when the bodies of several soldiers killed in Kosovo were returned to their families in Krusevac for burial.

Some public unrest was reported last week in the Krusevac region — a part of Serbia that has seen heavy call-ups of reserves for duty in Kosovo — but it apparently quieted for several days before flaring up again over the weekend.
Another 1,000 reservists are scheduled to report to their barracks in Krusevac on Tuesday, and the local military commander warned their families not to accompany them.
In addition to the gatherings in Krusevac, Yugoslav media reported that hundreds of reservists in the nearby smaller town of Aleksandrovac, who also had staged demonstrations last week, attempted to join the protesters in Krusevac but were stopped by police.

It involves training criminal justice professionals in restorative justice and victim-offender mediation for three pilot projects – one in Nis, a city of 400,000 in the south of Serbia, one in a juvenile correctional institution in Krusevac in central Serbia and one in Montenegro.
I delivered a basic victim-offender mediation course to the Nis group in March 2003, to the Krusevac institution in September and to the Montenegro group in November.
In the Juvenile Correctional Institution at Krusevac, while we were training in October, the governor was being removed and replaced, as the new Minister of Justice did not like him.

 Serb mothers lead anti-war protests over sons' coffins
In a rare break in the facade of Serb unity after two months of bombing, mothers of soldiers led demonstrations in the industrial city of Krusevac and the smaller town of Aleksandrovac, a wine-growing region.
Witnesses and news reports said more than 4,000 people gathered on Monday outside the town hall in Krusevac, the scene of several Nato bombing attacks, demanding an end to the war and for the soldiers to be sent home.
Reports from Yugoslavia said the first protest broke out in Krusevac on Saturday following the arrival of coffins bearing the bodies of seven soldiers the previous day.
