Krutitsy (Russian: Крути́цы) is a former ecclesiastical estate and monastery, situated on the steep left bank of the Moskva River, in the south-east of present-day Moscow.
From 1454 to 1738, it was a residence of the Krutitsy bishops.
In 1947, the bishopric of Krutitsy was merged with that of Kolomna.

The Krutitsy Metochion is a unique complex of monuments dating from the 15th-17th centuries and a former residence of the metropolitans of the Sarai and Podon dioceses.
Before the revolution of 1917 there were army barracks and a guardhouse on the premises of the Krutitsy Metochion, and during the Soviet period—a hostel of the Moscow Military District.
Under his supervision the historical appearance of the Krutitsy Metochion was restored in the period from 1950 to 1989.

New Hieromartyr Peter, Metropolitan of Krutitsy was glorified by the Russian Orthodox Church at the Synod of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church on February 23, 1997.
The latter made Peter Poliansky one of his closest aides, and persuaded him to become bishop; the Patriarch wished to consolidate the leadership of the Church in what was fast becoming the darkest time for the Church in many centuries.
In 1920 Peter Poliansky was made a monk and auxiliary bishop for the diocese of Moscow; in a matter of months he was appointed Metropolitan of Krutitsy, one of the highest ranking bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Constantine of Bogorodsk Orthodox Gymnasia, founded on the blessing of Metropolitan Juvenaly of Krutitsy and Kolomna, has functioned at Noginsk (Bogorodsk is its historical name) near Moscow for eight years now.
It is located close to the Cathedral of the Epiphany on the picturesque bank of the Klyazma River, in one of the old quarters of surviving wooden buildings of the early last century.
In 1997, Father Mikhail, in response to numerous requests from Orthodox parents, appealed to Metropolitan Juvenaly of Krutitsy and Kolomna to authorize the foundation of an Orthodox gymnasia in Noginsk.

Rather it was a general approval by the council, because the council expressed the desire of the majority of believing people who expected canonization.
And when Metropolitan Yuvenaly of Krutitsy and Kolomna, chairman of the commission on canonization, said that this question was on the agenda and would be decided, then the hall responded with a general sigh of approval and everybody accepted this decision with applause.
