		Kuala Penyu mempunyai sebuah Bangunan Perpustakaan yang dijalankan oleh empat orang kakitangan dengan koleksi buku sebanyak 22,000 buah (Bahasa melayu, Inggeris dan Cina).
		Pusat Kesihatan daerah Kuala Penyu mempunyai kakitangan seramai 12 orang.

		KOTA KINABALU: The residents of Beaufort and Kuala Penyu districts have been urged to actively take part in shaping the future of their districts by giving their earnest comments on the “2nd and Final Exhibition on the proposed new District Plan for Beaufort and Kuala Penyu”.
		As for Kuala Penyu District, the exhibition will be held on April 5 (Monday) at the Dewan Dato Shahbandar Makang, from 2pm - 5pm and April 6 (Tuesday) from 8.30am to 5pm.
		On June 30 this year, the completed final drafts of the Beaufort and Kuala Penyu district plan will then be presented to the respective District Councils for their consideration and approval.

		He was responding to a statement by PBS President Datuk Pairin expressing full support to a resolution raised by the party's Kuala Penyu division to form mutual cooperation with the Independent Assemblyman.
		Citing an example, he said the BN loss in the Kuala Penyu constituency should serve as a lesson to this effect and to ensure that such nonchalant attitude would not be repeated.

		On July 21, staff of the tribunal went to Kuala Penyu and registered a record 54 applications from three villages seeking compensations of between RM100 and RM2,500 for losses arising from a power disruption.
		During the hearing on Sept 9 in Kuala Penyu, tribunal chairperson Noor Azian Shaari ordered a construction company, Perwira Progresif Sdn Bhd, which admitted liability, to pay a total of RM9,950 in compensations to the claimants.
		Apart from Kuala Penyu, the tribunal also travelled to other parts of the State such as Sandakan, Tawau, Keningau, Kota Belud, Lahad Datu and Beaufort to enhance public awareness as well as hear cases.

		Ghani who won the Kuala Penyu state seat with a 2,018 vote majority in his victory speech late Sunday night vowed to apply to rejoin the BN within the next six months.
		In the Kuala Penyu state seat, Ghani polled 5,157 votes beating Datuk Wences Angang, Sabah Deputy Chief Minister in the last cabinet and UPKO secretary general, who managed only 3,139 votes.
		Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman, when asked by reporters on the fate of Ghani, last night said the Umno constitution was clear on the matter and that the new Kuala Penyu state assemblyman would not be allowed to rejoin the party as his membership had been revoked for life.

		KUALA LUMPUR (Malaysia): The Fisheries Department has banned the export of cockles from Sabah due to the "red tide" outbreak.
		The department said in a statement issued here yesterday that samples of sea water and cockles collected off areas in Sabah showed a dangerous level of toxicity at 80ug (micrograms)/100gm (grams).
		So far more than 300 cases of poisoning have been reported in high risk areas identified as Sipitang, Kuala Penyu, Binsuluk, Kota Kinabalu and Kota Marudu.

		The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department headquarters (FRD) has formed a special team comprising 20 firemen, expert in tackling peat fires and the group is on standby to assist their counterparts in Beaufort if the peat fires there go out of control.
		This is because the fire is usually underground, and the searing heat generated, scorches the land above, and as a result burns whatever growth is on the surface.
		He said firemen assigned to monitor peat fires in Beaufort and Kuala Penyu have been directed to set up makeshift tents near the affected areas to closely monitor the fire.

		This prompted the sultanate to immediately ban the import of fish, such as mackerel and sardines, from Sabah.
		Brunei has already banned the import of molluscs such as oysters, cockles and mussels harvested from Kuala Penyu and Kota Kinabalu waters.
