The Kuban (Куба́нь) is a river in Russia, in the Northern Caucasus region.
The Kuban flows 870 km north and west from its source near Mount Elbrus in the Caucasus Mountains, eventually reaching the Sea of Azov.
Cities along the Kuban are Karachayevsk, Cherkessk, Nevinnomyssk, Armavir, Krasnodar and Temryuk.

Afterwards this ruler and his warriors were forced out by the Roman and Bosporan troops from the area of the Don river, and then this group of the Proto-Slavs migrated to Scandinavia.

Smeyukha (Zhemchuzhina Rossii) urged Governor Tkachev to "make sure that the next session of the Krasnodar Territory's Legislative Assembly hears a report by V. Bondar, head of the Territorial Property Relations Department, on progress in Sovetskaya Kuban's privatization".
Although I can well understand the Kuban editors' concerns, it is fairly difficult to find words or reasons that might be a consolation to them.
