		Kugluktuk (Inuinnaqtun: Qurluktuk, Inuktitut: ᖁᕐᓗᖅᑐᖅ, formerly Coppermine until 1 January 1996) is a hamlet located in Nunavut, Canada, on Coronation Gulf, southwest of Victoria Island.
		It is the westernmost community in Nunavut, almost on the border with the Northwest Territories.
		Kugluktuk is located on the shore of the Arctic Ocean.

		Kugluktuk, Nunavut, Hamlet, population 1212 (2001 census), 1201 (1996 census), incorporated 1981, is a community on the mainland coast near the mouth of the COPPERMINE RIVER in the central Arctic.
		The mainly INUIT hamlet changed its name in 1996 from Coppermine to Kugluktuk, which means "place of rapids." In 1916 a trading post opened on the site and gradually the local Inuit settled permanently.
		Residents rely on some oil and natural gas exploration in the area, but more so on their traditional way of life such as fishing, hunting, trapping, and craftwork.
