The term 'Kuki' refers to an ethnic entity that spreads out in a contiguous region in Northeast India, Northwest Burma (Myanmar), and the Chittagong Hill tracts in Bangladesh.

The Saitama District Court sentenced a 21-year-old drunk driver to 10 years in prison Friday for reckless driving that resulted in the death of a 9-year-old boy and injuries to three people in Kuki, Saitama Prefecture, last November.
Masayuki Zamami, a construction worker, ran a red light at an intersection and hit another vehicle carrying the four victims on Nov. 23, 2003 while driving drunk, the sentence said.
