The Kabupaten KulonProgo is located in the west of the province Yogyakarta with Wates as its capital City.
The fertile fluvial plains of the Progo River form the centre of wetrice irrigation fields (pertanian disawah) are mainly in the lowland.

Kulon Pogo is one of the five districts of the sultanate Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
