Governor of Kunene Region, Samson Tjongarero, said the money was allocated to drill boreholes in areas where there is no water but where there is sufficient grazing for livestock.
The regional head of Rural Water Supply for Kunene North, Fritz Ndjarakana, told Nampa yesterday that his department will drill five new boreholes in the Etanga area, while they will rehabilitate another nine in the rest of Kunene North.
"Drought in Kunene North is experienced at areas where there is water as the livestock is more concentrated there, causing overgrazing, but there are areas where there is grazing but there is no water.
