The Logic of Nazification: The Case of the International Criminal Police Commission (Interpol) (Mathieu Deflem)
It was the intention of the National-Socialists at the meeting, Daluege argued, to communicate their experiences and to promote the [*28] international fight against crime, the “common enemy of every people” (p.489).
Daluege furthermore emphasized the nonpolitical nature of the ICPC and attributed its success to the meetings, which, he argued, brought a “personal touch” to an otherwise “purely technical (sachlich)” matter (p.490).
Daluege, in particular, argued for the effectiveness of the German measures on matters of “preparatory actions of serious criminals” and other dangerous acts that revealed a “criminal will” (Leibig 1936:269).

 Friedrich Wilhelm Krüger
While working at the refuse company, he probably also met Kurt Daluege for the first time; Daluege, who was an engineer at the company at that time, would later on become SS commander in Berlin and leader of the Ordnungspolizei ("order police"), and the two men soon formed a friendship.
In November 1929, Krüger then entered the NSDAP as member #6123; in February 1931, he also joined the SS, which he left abruptly in April to transfer to the SA.
With the help of Daluege, Krüger instantly acquired the SA rank and the power necessary to conduct reforms of the “SA Formation East”; he was promoted to SA-Gruppenführer (equivalent to major-general) in 1932 and joined Ernst Röhm's personal staff.

An example: In the book, Irving cited a statistic on the number of cases of fraud perpetrated by Jews in 1933 Germany.
Irving's rather insalubrious source for this claim was Kurt Daluege, the head of the German Order Police in the early '30s, and later in charge of the extermination of Jews on the Eastern Front.
Daluege had claimed that, under the Nazis, the number of fraud cases dropped from 31,000 in 1933, to 18,000, a majority of which he claimed were committed by Jews.

Breitman's important, dispassionate study adds to the already considerable body of evidence that Britain's top intelligence analysts knew, as early as September 1941, that the Germans were systematically carrying out mass murder of Jews in Nazi-occupied Soviet territories and planning their liquidation in the lands they conquered.
Drawing on newly declassified British decodes of intercepted German police wireless-telegraphy messages, the author, an eminent Holocaust scholar and American University professor of history, establishes the crucial role of the battalions of the German Order Police, run by Gestapo bureaucrat Kurt Daluege, the arch-rival of Security Police chief Reinhard Heydrich.
Breitman concludes that many police executioners obeyed the orders to murder Jews without compunction because they had long since internalized the pervasive anti-Semitic prejudice.

In Hitler’s Police Battalions he reveals how the institutional mindset of these “ordinary policemen” allowed them to commit atrocities without a second thought.
Westermann reveals initiatives pursued before the war by Heinrich Himmler and Kurt Daluege to create a culture within the existing police forces that fostered anti-Semitism and anti-Communism as institutional norms.
Challenging prevailing interpretations of German culture, he draws on extensive archival research — including the testimony of former policemen — to illuminate this transformation.

He claims that it was not unreasonable to rely on Daluege, who was admittedly "a dodgy source" but was at the time the head of the German police system making it necessary to rely on him.
