Kusunda is one of the endangered languages in Nepal.
Kusunda language, along with its unique morphology and syntax is both interesting and intriguing as linguists, until today, have not been that able to define exactly what form of language is this and in which family it falls.
Kusunda is not a dead language, therefore, we might be able to reintroduce it by opening a language council, at central level, which would have linguistic and cultural planning as required by the nation.

 Evolution of Human Languages
The Kusunda have long been regarded as one of three relic tribes of South Asia (the Vedda of Sri Lanka and the Andamanese on the Andaman Islands are the other two).
Current research indicates that the Kusunda language is a member of the Indo-Pacific family, with a pronominal system that is strikingly similar to that found in the Andaman Islands.
Furthermore, the Andamanese belong to a subgroup of M that has not been found in either Africa or Asia and they share a substitution at position 16357 that is only present at high frequencies in the Andaman Islands and in one of the major founding lineages of New Guinea and island Melanesia.

 Himalayan Linguistics
The Kusundas, also known as Ban Rajas "Kings of the Forest", first came to the attention of the Western world in 1848 when Brian Hodgson, the British Resident to the Court of Nepal, introduced them in an article in the "Journal of the Asiatic Society of Bengal", On the Chepang and Kusunda tribes of Nepal.
The assumed affinity between Kusunda and Chepang was based on their similar lifestyles -- both were hunter-gatherer groups -- and the error has persisted to the present day.
In fact, Kusunda is a linguistic isolate, very likely the sole survivor of an ancient aboriginal population once inhabiting the sub-Himalayan regions before the arrival of Tibeto-Burman and Indo-Aryan speaking peoples.
