Towns in Hong Kong picture - This pictures was taken from my home and look outside, surrounded resident area, and forward is the Kwai Chung Container Terminal, to look further towards is the Hong Kong island.
I living there over 20 years till now, there used to be much part of the sea view and see directly to that little island in between of Kowloon side and HK island, over 10 years, so many things were changed alot, motorway extended, Terminal has been enlarged, more colourful cube boxes has been added.

"The Kwai Chung container terminals recorded a cumulative throughput of 10.8 million TEUs from January to November, up 4.7 per cent over the same period in 2001.
In November, the Kwai Chung container terminals' throughput surged 16.6 per cent year-on-year to 1.03 million TEUs." A spokesman for the Hong Kong Port and Maritime Board said.

Kwai Fong was originally named "Lap Sap Wan," which means the "bay of rubbish," since the station is close to a now disused landfill, and was a bit south of the present station.
Kwai Fong, Kwai Hing, Lai Chi Kok, and Cheung Sha Wan stations gained their present names before opening, and Mei Foo was also renamed from "Lai Chi Kok" to "Lai Wan." The other stations had their Chinese name changed when they opened, and were renamed in 1985 together with Mei Foo station.

 New control station to monitor sea traffic in Kwai Chung
A Marine Department spokesman today (Wednesday) said that the KCCS, to be manned round-the-clock by staff, was set up to monitor, regulate, and harmonize all marine traffic within the Kwai Chung Basin so as to maintain navigational safety and efficiency.
The station will serve an area bound on the north by the Kwai Ysing Bridge, on the south by a straight line joining the western edge of Stonecutters Island and the south-eastern tip of Tsing Yi Island, and on the east and west by the adjacent shorelines.
Radio contacts with KCCS (call sign "Kwai Chung Control") should always be made on VHF Channel 74 unless otherwise directed.

This is the third consecutive month that Shenzhen’s throughput has topped the 1 million mark, although the figure was 5.2% lower than September’s 1.08 million TEU.
Initial figures put Hong Kong's Kwai Chung Terminal at 1.025 million TEU in October, about 5,000 TEU less than Shenzhen’s, and the fifth consecutive month that Kwai Chung has recorded a drop in container throughput.

 Taxi driver dies in Kwai Chung accident
Police are investigating a traffic accident in which a 55-year-old taxi driver was killed in Kwai Chung early this morning.
Shortly after 3.40am, a taxi collided with a Police Emergency Unit vehicle at the junction of Kwai Fuk Road and Hing Fong Road.
Four people were injured in the accident including the taxi driver, a 37-year-old Sergeant, a 39-year-old Senior Police Constable and a 29-year-old Police Constable.

 Motorcyclist, 28, dies in Kwai Chung crash
A 28-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a traffic accident in Kwai Chung this morning.
Shortly before 9am, the man was found lying unconscious with his motorcycle on the Kowloon-bound lane of Kwai Chung Road below the Lai King MTR Bridge.
He was sent to Princess Margaret Hospital where he was certified dead at 9.18am.
