"minibus blues" (posted 2004-07-29 13:25:34) : MONOKROM : News Item
Wednesday morning, we took the MTR but were both so tired that we overshot Kwai Fong, took the MTR back at the next station, and then used a taxi (instead of the 88M minibus) to get to Cheung Hong (faster than a minibus in a pinch).
That afternoon, I took the 88d minibus back to the Kwai Fong MTR station (as I had on Sunday and Tuesday when I went in to meet the other teachers).
I walked around outside of the MTR station in the rain, then around the outside of the adjacent shopping center, looking for 88d's picking folks up.

News items from 16 - 20 (posted to news category "OCaml" ) at MONOKROM
After leaving Nan Fung, I took the train to Kwai Fong to visit the anime dvd shop in the maze-like, 4-floor shopping mall next to the very nice, but usually mostly empty, Metroplaza (or, as Sara and I have dubbed it due to the Cannabis Sativa images employed liberally in the decor, the "Marijuana Mall").
The sign above the door into the maze mall at the end of the sky bridge from the Metroplaza says something like "Trendy Centre", but the only thing that I can find on centamap.com near the Metroplaza that might fit is Kwai Chung Plaza.
No thumbing or reading a bit to see if you'd like to buy unless you're willing to go the extra step of asking a clerk for an unwrapped copy or to unwrap one of the wrapped copies for your perusal (under his/her steady gaze, of course).

A swift tour round Hong Kong bars, pubs, discos
The best known is Lan Kwai Fong, on the fringes of Central &; you can’t really make it out from here, but it’s in front of the Bank of China Building.
JJs in the Grand Hyatt was one of the hottest spots in town when it first opened; with its regular dance floor and house band playing in an upstairs room, it’s still the kind of place the California crowd might make for after Lan Kwai Fong.
This would make a complete circuit of the heart of Lan Kwai Fong — and would lead us past a plethora of bars that are as varied as their drinks menus.
