Aged 21, she is now the president of The Kyogle Youth Action Incorporation, is one of six young people on an advisory council to NSW Premier, Bob Carr, and is a candidate in the upcoming Kyogle Council by-election.
Their aim was to increase the mental health capacity of the Kyogle community and to develop strategies that were transferable to other communities.

Kyogle is the first major town through which the cyanide transports pass after they come over the Border Ranges from Queensland into New South Wales; the headwaters of the Richmond River is the first NSW to bear the hazard of a spill.
Kyogle is built along the rail line which passes close by the Kyogle Hospital and the High School - in fact students cross the line to get to the sports field.

Officers from my department who were in Kyogle on Friday when the fire was still burning started the process of working together with the community to move forward.
I understand that officers of the Department of State and Regional Development attended the Kyogle area on Friday morning to discuss with the company's board of directors and its manager, Peter Wintour, arrangements that may be put in place.
Because of the work that has already been done, Kyogle shire is in a much better position to move the strategy forward than it would have been if it had to start from scratch.

KYOGLE — In one of several recent anti-war actions in the area, around 3000 people marched down the main street of Coffs Harbour on February 2.
Participants in the Kyogle march included local members of the ALP, the Greens, the Democrats and the Socialist Alliance.
After the march activists met in the newly established local Greens office to discuss further activity including organising a bus from the town to join a February 15 anti-war rally in Lismore.
