Typical of most Kyoto temples, it is a group of more than a dozen wooden structures in a lush garden, especially famous for Japan's largest Zen temple gate, 65 feet high, and the bright fall colors of maple leaves in the lush gully.
In all of Kyoto my favorite place is the small garden of Nanzen-In, perfectly arrayed around a tiny heart-shaped pond spanned by a foot bridge, accented with rugged rocks and graced with a traditional wooden subtemple.

In Kansai, new railways are being built-the Osaka Loop Line between Shin-Osaka and Kyuhoji, the Osaka Municipal Subway No. 8 between Itakano and Yuzato, the Keihan-Nakanoshima New Line between Temmabashi and Tamaebashi, the Hanshin Nishi-Osaka Extension Line between Nishikujo and Namba, and the Kyoto Municipal Subway Tozai Line between Nijo and Tenjingawa.
In January, the Council for Sakai Public Transport, an advisory body to the Sakai municipal government, submitted a report to the municipal government, saying, 'The LRT is desirable as a means of transportation friendly to the people and the city.
Sakai City's moves are attracting attention because the LRT is regarded internationally as a new city traffic system in the 21st century, but for its realization, support from the state is required, including the designation of the places where the LRT is introduced as special zones and eased regulations.

The centerpiece of the report probably is the plan to extend Osaka Municipal Subway Yotsubashi Line for approximately three kilometers northward from the Nishi Umeda Station making it go beneath the Umeda-Kita Yard (JR Umeda Freight Train Station adjacent to northern part of Osaka Station) to connect to the Juso Station on the Hankyu Line.
In line with this plan, the Osaka Municipal Subway System and Hankyu Corp. also plan mutual ride-through operations to directly connect the areas along the Kobe Municipal Subway lines with the Namba district in Osaka.
