The antibodies from the participants' sera were sent to Duke University and tested against HIV in cultures.
		The LCV case resolved on its own, without the need for treatment. LCV is a known side-effect of several approved vaccines, including influenza, tetanus, pertussis and measles.

		In addition, a number animal models are used to study the virus, it's associated tumours and cellular interactions in vivo.
		Lymphocryptoviruses (LCV) infect old world primates and are closely related to EBV so can be used to model disease pathogenesis.
		The main New World Primates used for modelling EBV infection are the common marmoset (Callithris jacchus) and the cotton top tamarin (Saguinus oedipus oedipus) because of their close immunological relationships to humans as they have similar T-cell receptors, cytokines and major hisotcompatibilty complex.
