Lea Salonga-Chien (born on February 22, 1971 in Manila) is Tony Award-winning actress and Filipino Music Award winning singer from the Philippines who achieved international recognition for her portrayal of Kim, the lead role in the musical Miss Saigon and as Eponine in Les Misérables.
Lea Salonga was born Maria Lea Carmen Imutan Salonga to Feliciano Genuino Salonga and Ligaya Alcantara Imutan, who were never legally married because her father already had a wife and children, with whom he still lives today.
Lea was invited by Sir Cameron Mackintosh to play the role of Eponine for the 10th Anniversary concert of "Les Miserables" at London's Royal Albert Hall, after Frances Ruffelle declined.

Lea compiled a number of scrapbooks to preserve clippings of maps of battles fought during the Civil War; he was particularly interested in the defense of harbors.
Lea was active in the American Society of Church History, which merged with the American Historical Society for a time and was a member of the American Oriental Society through his friendship with Morris Jastrow, librarian of the University of Pennsylvania.
Lea's efforts to reform Republican politics and get rid of party bosses of whom Quay was seen as the leader (he was referred to as the "Beaver boss"), caused him not only to denounce Quay repeatedly in the press but also to denounce Quay's Republican candidate for governor of Pennsylvania in 1890, George Wallace Delamater.

Lea was commissioned by Life magazine in 1946 to paint a series of canvases depicting Western cattle, which Life presented to the Dallas Museum of Fine Arts.

Lea Salonga made her professional debut at the age of 7 in Repertory Philippines' production of The King And I and has since appeared in Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, Fiddler On The Roof, The Rose Tattoo, Annie, The Sound Of Music, The Goodbye Girl, Paper Moon and The Fantasticks.

C., in 1841, Lea suggested to Nicollet that the beautiful, horse-shaped lake be listed at Lake Chapeau, the name given to it by the French fur traders.
Lea took a philosophical, "did-my-duty" attitude toward the fact that his engineering achievements were ignored by his Confederate superiors in Richmond, whereas an opposing Union general paid him the highest of compliments.
