Originally, upon thinking about the potentials of making a LEGO musical instrument, I had hoped to reproduce a piano, but ditched the idea due to the enormous tension involved (40,000 lbs.)--there's a reason why pianos have steel frames.
Also, Technic ("mechanical" LEGO) parts were relied upon to create the keyboard pivots, locking supports for the soundboard and wrestplank, bridge and nut mounts, hinges for the lid, underside of the jack rail, and the tuning and hitch pins.
LEGO as a medium holds rather well, not to mention is heavier than hell on a compoundedly large scale.

 Wedding Cake -- LEGO
I was prompted to finally build a LEGO wedding cake mainly because I got a surprisingly high number of inquiries about LEGO wedding-themed items during the past year.
I had built a Bride and Groom for one individual (this was not my original design, it was sent to me as a single digital picture, and I reconstructed it).
Final touches were added such as the light gray decoration around the edge of the cake and white plates along the edge of the top of the two large tiers.

In 1998 the Lego Mindstorms RIS set pulled me out of my "dark age", and now Lego is again one of my main interests.
Even though I don't like the current commercial policy of The Lego Company, even though I think the original concept has been sometimes betrayed, I still believe Lego® is the thing on earth closest to the perfect toy.

Obviously, the ball itself couldn't be made from lego blocks and a regular 1 1/16" steel pinball was just too heavy for the Lego motors, so a 1" glass ball was used as the main playing ball and a regular steel ball was used for the tilt mechanism.
But don't think Lego is just coloured plastic blocks because it's developed into far more that that, with motors, sensors, controller boards and its own programming language.
The result is an amazing pinball machine demonstrating the power and flexibility of the Lego system along with the ingenuity and creative skills of its creators.
