	Lj (letter) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Lj (lj in lower case) is a letter present in some Slavic languages such as Serbian and Croatian, where it is pronounced (IPA) /ʎ/.
		Most languages containing the letter Lj in the alphabet are phonetic, which means that every symbol is one sound and is always pronounced the same way.
		In this case, joining the letters L and J creates a new letter or a sound.

		The DL user directory has a list of the 30 or so most recent updates, and then sorts the user directory by letter, showing the 150 most recent updated users for each letter.
		It beats the hell out of LJ's random link, because it guarantees recent updates (the 150th person in the alpha list is usually less than 6 hours old) and offers a link to user profiles, too.
		But I'm sure there are LJ users whose work is optimized for this format, I just don't know where to find them.

		The LJ thing (it sorta looked liked someones notes for a paper, not a lot of linking sentences or thoughts going on) was saying there are advantages to keeping open source software small.
		The disconnect I see is that Joel is talking about new versions of commercial software and LJ is talking about trying to keep open source software small so it can dominate all desktop and wireless clients, capturing "unexperienced users" and therefore all of the servers out there.
		So for the market as a whole all the features are essential but for individuals there is a lot of space used that appears to be wasted.
