		An LLB comprises 212 points earned from eight compulsory Law courses, 180 points earned from 12 elective Law courses, and 90 points of non-Law courses, of which at least 72 points are taken in the first year.
		High-achieving LLB students may be invited to join the LLB Honours programme at the end of the second year, and graduates with an LLB can continue on to Masters and PhD levels.
		If you perform well in the second year of the LLB you may be invited to join the Honours programme by way of a letter of invitation sent before the start of the academic year.

	Law (LLB, LLB(Hons))
		Possession of an LLB or LLB (Honours) degree does not guarantee its holder a place in the Diploma course, nor does admission to the Diploma necessarily entitle a student to receive a postgraduate grant from the SAAS, which operates a quota scheme of awards for this course.
		Tuition fees for graduates taking the LLB are likely to be £6,360 per year, but there are a limited number of University scholarships, each of approximately £5,600 per year in value, available to graduates who performed meritoriously in their first degree.
		As the Aberdeen LLB is based on Scots Law and not English Law, it does not provide the quickest route to someone intending to qualify for practice in England.

		The Associate Dean, Undergraduate, is empowered by the faculty to consider all applications for credit transfers for all subjects of an LLB course and to grant such credit transfers as he or she deems fit, subject to the requirements of these guidelines.
		Students enrolled in the LLB course who participate in an approved exchange program and who obtain credit in the other institution for any approved subject in that institution's LLB curriculum will be given equivalent credit towards their University of Melbourne LLB degree.

		All first degrees in law offered by British universities are "non-professional degrees" and the normal "minimum" entry requirement is high school diploma: they may be titled LLB (London etc.), BA (Oxford etc), MA (Scottish universities, etc), or LLM (for graduates in non-law disciplines).
		The British law degree generally is not a professional or vocational law degree, whereas the north American LLB or JD is. There are of course exceptions to this general rule in that some universities in Britain are now combining both the academic and vocational stages of the legal training into a four-year LLB degree.
		By the way, many British universities do offer "distance learning" or "correspondence" LLB degree programs and the "assessment" process is more liberal than London: how many external students are awarded firsts from London???
