La Crosse County is a county located in the U.S. state of Wisconsin.
The United States Census Bureau's La Crosse Metropolitan Statistical Area includes all of La Crosse County (as well as Houston County, Minnesota to the west).
In the county, the population was spread out with 23.60% under the age of 18, 15.60% from 18 to 24, 27.50% from 25 to 44, 20.80% from 45 to 64, and 12.50% who were 65 years of age or older.

Thanks to a grant awarded by the Wisconsin Historical Society, the Mississippi Valley Archaeology Center developed an archaeological model of La Crosse County, predicting where unknown prehistoric sites may exist.
Using known site locations and knowledge of the La Crosse area, a map of "archaeologically sensitive areas" was generated and made accessible to the La Crosse County Land Information and Zoning Department.
The county can use this map for planning purposes, and MVAC will use it to choose areas to test in the future.

The proposal is being considered to address future transportation demand, to finalize the transportation component of the La Crosse River Valley Land Use Plan being prepared by the City of La Crosse, and to preserve land for a future transportation corridor.
To ensure that the full range of issues related to this proposed action are addressed and all significant issues are identified, comments and suggestions are invited from all interested parties.
