The racial makeup of the county was 94.49% White, 0.84% Black or African American, 0.23% Native American, 0.65% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 2.62% from other races, and 1.14% from two or more races.
In the county, the population was spread out with 24.20% under the age of 18, 13.80% from 18 to 24, 27.60% from 25 to 44, 21.80% from 45 to 64, and 12.70% who were 65 years of age or older.

The Lumberjack trail, which includes the spur to the County K parking lot, is marked with blue XC ski signs; snowmobile trails are marked with orange diamonds.
Trailhead location is in Medary at the trail parking lot -.5 mile east of Hwy 16 / County B intersection; in Onalaska at the Center for Commerce and Tourism office at 800 Oak Forest Dr.; in Trempealeau at the Hwy 35 trail crossing.

The Wisconsin portion is also a relatively moderately-used route compared to the Iowa and Minnesota segments which lead away from either end, which are both much more major thoroughfares.
For the most part in Wisconsin, however, US-61 is a two-lane highway at present, with the exception of a short portion with US-151 from Dickeyville southerly which is combination freeway/expressway.
One of the shorter state trunklines in the Wisconsin, STH-68 is actually part of a through-route via STH-33 from Portage to the west, heading to Waupun on the east, where connections are made to routes to Fond du Lac and Oshkosh.

He is now one of the leading members of the bar of Nemaha County and in addition to being established in the practice of his profession at Auburn, the county seat, he has served continuously as county attorney since 1914, his present term expiring in January, 1927.
He was highly respected, held several important offices in the town; reared a large family most of whom are living, respected and esteemed; and died at the advanced age of 84 years.
