La otra razón por la que debería dejarse a los güiriseros participar en la explotación del recurso, es para resolver un problema muy pocas veces abordado con ellos, como es la contaminación dispersa y fuera de control que ellos realizan en la zona del triángulo minero.

 Sustituirán a Miguel Obando, Cardenal de Nicaragua
La víspera expresó que era el momento oportuno de agradecer después de 37 años de ser nombrado obispo y casi 35 de arzobispo el apoyo de los feligreses.
Según la prensa local, el martes próximo Gobel dará a conocer la sustitución de Obando por monseñor Leopoldo Brenes obispo de Matagalpa, a 130 kilómetros al norte de Managua.
Obando nació el 2 de febrero de 1926, en La Libertad, Chontales, y el 18 de enero de 1968, fue nombrado obispo de Matagalpa; en 1970 fue designado arzobispo de Managua, presidió la Conferencia Episcopal de Nicaragua y en 1985 fue nombrado cardenal.

The other day I was up in one of Nicaragua's gold-mining towns, La Libertad, Chontales.
Nicaragua!?!) "Freedom" is a curious name for a town that has effectively been enslaved by Northern greed virtually from birth (but then we European conquistadors invented double standards/speak long before "plausible deniability" even hit the stage.) La Libertad is pleasant enough, cool and breezy after Managua's sticky heat, but it's dirt poor.
Or rather im-poverished, poverty being "thrust upon it." While New York got - and gets - the gold, La Libertad got - and gets - the mercury and cyanide residues used in its extraction.
