Se podría destacar, la voz de Kyo, que puede ser desde una voz histerica, enferma, salvaje, hasta una voz tranquila, triste.
Las canciones, están compuestas por casi todos los miembros del grupo, aunque hay mas de Kaoru que de los otros.
Las canciones compuestas por Totchi tienen todas un solo de bajo...

La historia de esta banda de j-pop comienza en 1991, en Osaka, Tetsu se encargó de formar la banda conformada por el mismo como bajista, Hyde como vocalista, Hiro en la guitarra y Pero en la batería.
El nombre de la banda deriva de la lengua francesa en donde su significado es el arco en el cielo haciendo referencia al arcoiris.
La grabación de este disco ocasionó unos problemas ya que algunos temas que tenían preparados eran de la autoría de Hiro, teniendo que cambiarlos por otros.

Nel 1996 i La:sadies si sciolgono, e dalle loro ceneri nel 1997 nascono i Dir en Grey, con la stessa formazione ad eccezione di Toshiya.
La band debutta nello stesso anno direttamente con un mini album “Missa”, che esce sotto l’ettichetta della casa discografica “East West Japan”.
Firmano così con la Extasy Records, ovvero l'etichetta di Yoshiki, e debuttano come major nel 1999 con successo grazie al loro primo album, "Gauze".
